PhD students receive support through our mentorship and career development programs which focus on training in transferable skills for academia and beyond.
Close mentoring from faculty
Research groups are kept small to ensure direct contact with faculty. Specially appointed mentors, track representatives, the PhD program chair, and the Dean of the Graduate School offer guidance in addition to the students’ direct supervisors.
Career services
With regular career talks, skills training sessions, as well as visits from industry leaders, our career development program helps our students prepare for a career in academia, industry, and other sectors.
TWIST – Technology Transfer Office
The Technology Transfer Office is the one-stop shop for all matters related to intellectual property, industry cooperation and entrepreneurship at ISTA. The Office supports researchers in the commercialization of their research results.
Alumni Network
After graduation, students are invited to join our rapidly growing global network of alumni. With alumni distributed all over the world, membership in the ISTA alumni network opens doors and offers new opportunities.
Through our “Stay in Touch” initiative, there are various ways in which our alumni can benefit from continued connection with ISTA. To explore what the Alumni Office has to offer, please visit the alumni website.
